Orlu is the second largest city after Owerri (Capital of Imo). Imo has a population of about 16,600 people. Orlu has played a prominent role for being the headquarters of the Organization of African Unity (OAU). The headquarters of the British Cheshire Home is also in this city. A lot of enterprises and industries are in this city. When all of the LGAs in the zone are included Orlu’s population is estimated to be approximately 3,000,000 inhabitants.
